Nothing yet currently working in topics and with the volunteer who will be teaching them. I'll send something over when it's done.

Global Activities / Decentralized Arcade
« on: January 13, 2017, 01:49:55 PM »
Following on from discussions this is our Decentralized Arcade topic. The idea: Have CoinFests from around the world game with/abasing each other on crypto/blockchain based games.

The UK based blockchain games will be announced once the website is up (Hopefully soon!)

I do have an idea which may work. We could host a gaming session of certain Bitcoin games where CoinFest events play against each other.

We are arranging a UK server to be setup for a Bitcoin game and it would be awesome if we could all play against each other (and the winner wins Bitcoin in the game anyway)!

This year we are also planning mining education sessions following feeeback from attendees and multiple questions on how mining works and how people can get into it.

I really like this idea. It will also show/promote the fact that CoinFest is a global event happening around the same time.

This will really help some organisers focus on other areas of the event and we can build a list of vendors around the world who accept Bitcoin in local areas!

That one's being covered by BlockTalk. It will basically be the same as last year, when the BlockTalk guy was the host, anyways.

Awesome! Thanks. Can you put me in touch with the BlockTalk people  ;D

Yeah, what about? I usually chat with him on Facebook; email works, too. We'll be sure to coordinate the Hangout with you, of course.

Just to delve into detail / timings etc (closer to the event) about the hangout, making sure we time it all right!

Good news, everyone: in addition to BlockTalk on the Saturday, the Crypto Show and Bitcoins and Gravy have also decided to host their shows during and in conjunction with CoinFest. We can give away Bitcoin prizes on all three. Crypto Show and Bitcoins and Gravy have no dates set, yet, but I'm guessing they'll be during the week. I'll also be going on both shows soon to spread the word about CoinFest and try to get more cities on board

I think now we're starting to look at a situation where the International Hangout is entirely third party/decentralized. There's no need for CoinFest to have its own central Hangout channel; in fact, it's in the spirit of free market competition to let anybody who wants to abide the CoinFest protocol to do it. Just like how anybody can host their own local event. CoinFest just brings it all together

Awesome news pal! If these don't fall on the UK dates, I'll be sure to promote them.

When you say there's no need for CoinFest to have its own central hangout channel does this effect the international hangout planned for April 7/8?

This is one part of CoinFest I am really looking forward to!

The idea of getting people to show certain activities or maybe something custom to their location and sending them a little bitcoin is a great idea.

That is great, thanks. :) Would it basically look the same as this one, and would I point it at the same IP?

I'm not sure I can manage it by myself, though, right now. If one of you want to help like Bates is with this forum, then we can go ahead and do it, though. Just might take a while for it to fill with content... right now I'm trying to build our Facebook group, and I need to launch an official BitcoinTalk thread.

No problem, yes it would.

I'm unable to commit anytime at the moment but maybe in the future

i can help u with the forums. what kind are u looking for phpbb or ipb? or any other?

If we had a forum like this one or the BitcoinTalk one, it would be great, actually. I could create a subdomain forum.blockchaingaming.com and point it at whomever is willing to play host. I don't want to worry about redesigning the site until it's clear what sort of venture this is going to be, though. I've been talking to various players in the blockchain gaming space, and partners may soon arise.

If we start looking at an ad revenue model, a redesign may be required. Currently, I am using templates provided to me for free as a CoinFest partnership deal with Mojito Sites & Saucal. He also provides free hosting, but the features are rather limited.

Hey bud,

Of course if you want to use CryptoCloudHosting.org, I'll host free on there for you!

Fundamentals / Re: Feedback on a idea

Thanks for the input!

The paper wallets would be generated by me only on a airgappd device.

Of course, the reason I run CoinFestUK is to help to people started in crypto, spread the word, let people see the amazing projects in the crypto world and connect people

(posted on Bitcointalk aswell for some more feedback)
